My latest layouts

Its crazy, ever since I started working a "regular" job I have been finding it challenging to keep up the paces of a creative lifestyle. Sadly the priorities of job and home get in the way. But as time is going on I am getting better at finding that balance and I am scrapping and stamping more. Not as much as I would like to..(would do it just about all day if I could) but still more then I was before.

A friend of mine signed up to do a Layout a day and I would love to get in on that kind of action. Realistically I would probably not do a layout a day but just to have the idea or a challenge, something to get the creative juices flowing would be great because quite honestly, I spend a lot of my creative time "deciding" on what to do rather then just doing. So perhaps a challenge just telling me to "to do this" would be most helpful. So a little searching on the internet and hopefully I found a few sites that will inspire me to create more.

For now though its time to update my blog with some of my most recent work. Then hopefully, I will get around to posting more. Seriously though I am beginning to think that blogging is not my strong suit.

So this first layout I actually created for a challenge at a crop I attended. Basically it was interpreting a sketch. I thought it came out pretty dang cute and I discovered I really loved our Authentic Stamp set. There is so much you can do with it!! I have used it a lot recently.

This one is also a sketch challenge layout. We could choose from six different ones so I thought what the heck, I had them, why not do them all! This one was ok. I seemed to get stuck on how to complete it but at some point I had to call it "done" and move on. Besides years from now its the pictures that will count, not the embellishments.

And finally I did complete the Miracle Kit from Close to My Heart. Available while supplies last during the month of May. This was a really cute kit and I had the perfect pictures to go with it. I really love the look of dimension without adding a lot of bulk. The new irresistibles are so yummy. What a great idea to add some texture to chipboard. Makes me think of some other ways I could make my own.

Well I am off to hopefully do some more creating. Have a day off today and now that my to do list is pretty much done its time to go off and create some more.

Reflection

Browsing the CTMH consultant website I was inspired by several cards using this technique to create a "reflection" of the image. The new Childhood Portrait Stamp set is perfect for this technique..which is good because honestly when I first got this stamp set I wasnt sure I would like it very much..but the ideas are flowing now. As you can see the image is reversed below as a "reflection" in the water. The paper I used for this card is our new "Grace" paper. This paper is Gorgeous. I am anxious to play with it more. The card pattern is from our Book "Wishes" The Medallion pattern. This book is AWESOME!! If you have not seen it yet I highly recommend you do. Its very inspiring and the designs are off the charts!!

I feel like I am finally on a creative roll these days.. So hopefully we will see more art getting posted here. Thanks for looking. Comments Welcome.
Enjoy.

all products used are Close To My Heart. Directions will be posted after I hold the local technique class.

GettingTwitterpated

Ok, so I have to admit when I first saw this paper I wasnt that crazy about it and the name even makes me giggle a little but now that I have had the opportunity to play with it... I really love it. I love the colors, I love the whimsy and as far as "trends" go I think its right on. I competed Close To My Hearts Workshops on the Go program for it and I think it came out pretty cute. So here it is: Or look "up" there they are.. ( still trying to figure out this whole blog thing)

The Basic project pack with tax and shipping is 35.00 which gets you enough project to make these projects and I can tell you I have LOTS of paper left over so I will probably take some time to create additional layouts with whats left. Especially using my Zion pictures..there are some great shots there I am particularly proud of.

So that is it for today.. I am hoping now that the kids are back in school I can be back on a more normal routine.

Another Scrap Page

This page I experimented with painting on my page. I took a piece of Crystal Blue Cardstock and I distressed it with sand paper. I did this to start the layering of of the distressing process and also to help the paint "stick" Then I took acrylic paint and added chocolate, cocoa and desert sand reinker. I was after a certain color to match the deep reddish brown that was in the secondary paper I was using. The picture really doesnt show the true color of the painting but I got really close. Then using a dry brush technique I went around the entire paper and painted. Basically taking the "blue" out for the most part. Then using the treasure life set and the Cocoa ink I stamped some shadowed images on the back ground. Then layered the front with images I cut from the secondary paper. The butterfly is lifted a bit with foam tape.

And there you have it. All supplies were Close To My Heart with the exception of the secondary paper.

First Art Share! Yea!

Well, I got a few things uploaded so I can be "ahead of the game" so to speak in sharing daily art. So here is a layout a did a while back for someone. Its using our silhouette basics (love that stuff) along with twilight textured cardstock and a pattern from Cherish. The flowers and the Title rub on our from other companies.. Prima I believe for the flowers and Karen Foster Designs for the rub on.. ( I think, it could be wrong, just so you know) So off to a good start, I have a few other things but I will save them in case I miss a day of creating, though I am hoping I dont. I look forward to sharing many a piece of work here and I hope you will enjoy looking! Until tomorrow

Welcome to my Art Share

I have decided to have two blogs.. I know crazy right?? But I am starting a new project.. Project 365. This is something I heard about from a friend and basically you take a photo a day and journal about it. So I am going to reserve falline6pack.blogspot.com for that project and do a daily art share here. So I hope you will follow me on both blogs as I embark on this journey of creativity.
